Hey there, I’m Amy Brown.
I’m a Registered Psychologist and founder of State of Being. I’m so glad you’re here and considering whether we might be a good fit. Navigating life, figuring out who you are and working out what you actually want can feel overwhelming, and you deserve a space that makes it easier.
Since the beginning of my career, my goal has been simple: to share evidence-based tools in a way that feels clear, human and genuinely enjoyable. As a high-achieving woman diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, I know what it’s like to look accomplished on the outside while feeling scattered, unsure or disconnected on the inside. That’s why I don’t do the “blank slate” thing. I show up as a real human, because authenticity and connection are at the heart of effective therapy.
Professionally, I’ve supported individuals and couples across a wide range of challenges, studied positive psychology in the Netherlands, and contributed to wellbeing programs, retreats, workshops and non-profit mental health work. Whether I’m in session, developing resources or training other clinicians, my focus is always the same: offering practical, evidence-based support that helps people move towards a life that feels aligned and fulfilling.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me immersed in the latest topic I’m loving learning about, at the beach with my partner and our cocker spaniel pups Darby and Henri, eating Mexican food on repeat, or slowing down in nature with the people I love.
If any of this resonates and you’re ready for support finding clarity, self-understanding and gentle growth, you’re welcome to book an intro call so we can say hi and explore how I might be able to help.
Wishing you all the good things,
Amy
